Some patients require minor surgical procedure to prepare their mouth for a dental prosthesis such as a denture or a bridge.  Such surgical procedures are called pre-prosthetic surgery.

 

This may include removing or smoothing of bone after extractions, removal of excess bone or gum tissue, exposure or removal of impacted teeth and bone ridge reduction.

 

Pre-prosthetic surgery is sometimes necessary to ensure that the patient will have maximum comfort when wearing their dental prosthesis.
